Apartment | Tel Aviv

An apartment merging project usually begins when the standard contractor floor plan simply doesn't provide a precise solution for a family's needs. In this case, the clients purchased two adjacent new-build apartments in Tel Aviv with the goal of combining them. From a spatial planning perspective, the main challenge was taking a space never intended to be a single residence, with all the resulting restrictions and constraints, and transforming it into a flowing, harmonious home, all within the rigid framework of the developer’s tenant modifications process.

 

The most prominent structural challenge in this apartment combination was dealing with two Mamads (safe rooms) that anchor the property. Since the merger was initiated during the purchasing stage, we had the creative freedom to officially "cancel" one safe room and convert it into a children's bedroom. Although the concrete walls had to remain due to building code constraints, the new layout birthed a spacious 5 Room Apartment that maximizes every single square meter.

 

The home's design concept was born from a dialogue between two worlds: she is Italian, breathing warm, classic, and timeless Italian design, while he is drawn to a modern, clean, and meticulously planned aesthetic. The fusion of these two approaches created the unique and highly personal design language of this home.

 

Today, the official tenant modification phase is behind us, and the contractor is actively working on the apartment's infrastructure. Alongside the on-site construction, we are moving forward with the interior design, building 3D models and fine-tuning the custom carpentry plans to create a strong, cohesive anchor well before the handover of the keys.
